Are you affected by the new
Massage Establishment Laws?
(Yes,
it does say 2007 on these fact sheets. But this is what
the Massage Therapy Licensing Program is currently sending
with MTI renewals.)
TAMT is Not Ready
to Applaud Craigslist in Texas
Since
1984 in Texas, massage professionals have been trying
to distance themselves from prostitution. Recently
Craigslist's owners have made a decision to clean
up the controversial postings for massage on their
websites by eliminating their "erotic services" section
in the state of Illinois.
Unfortunately, Craigslist in Texas has just added
another category -- "adult services". As of May 18,
2009, there are 3 categories advertising prostitution
under the guise of massage therapy. "Therapeutic"
services is chock full of erotic ads boasting of all
sorts of illegal massage!
