May 24, 2013

Greetings,

The Texas Association of Massage Therapists (TAMT) has long been an organization striving to provide education, resources, and a legislative voice for all Texas massage therapists.  In this pursuit, we as an organization have developed professional industry wide relationships in an effort to grow and strengthen our industry.  In doing so, over the span of the past three years, we have discovered a strong ally in the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA).

The past three years have been filled with a great deal of hard work and commitment on the part of your Executive Board and Legislative Team.  We have worked diligently for you to provide benefits and resources to help each and every one of you grow as a professional and evolve your massage practice.  Your legislative team has sacrificed time from their practices and families to fight for your rights to maintain the integrity of our profession.  In an effort to better our services for each of you, we re-evaluated the direction of TAMT and discovered it could only be strengthened by uniting with AMTA.

We are excited to announce that effective May 24, 2013 all current members of TAMT will receive many of the benefits of membership with the American Massage Therapy Association.  Your insurance coverage with ABMP (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals) will remain the same until it reaches expiration.  Upon expiration of your current membership, you will then be provided the opportunity to renew with AMTA.  During this time with AMTA, you will be rewarded with all the benefits of Texas Chapter AMTA members (not including insurance).  This includes the ability to attend all Texas chapter meetings and CE workshops complimentary, as well as the ability to attend the upcoming National Convention occurring in Fort Worth in September at the member discounted rate.  Upon your renewal with AMTA you will be able to do so without paying chapter fees for the first year and AMTA has the wonderful benefit of insurance already included in as a part of their membership.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your continued support for more than a decade.  We wish you all the very best professionally and will see you soon in Fort Worth at the AMTA National Convention.

To speak with the representative at AMTA that will be able to assist you with completion of your renewal or to inquire about your free AMTA membership and benefits, please contact Christine Nogel at (877) 905-2700 ext.171.  Please mention your membership with TAMT so that she may be able to better assist you.

Warmest Regards,

Shelli Davis-Redford

TAMT President
