Massage Establishment Laws?

Check out these documents at the DSHS website.

Meet some of our board members!

TAMT is Not Ready
to Applaud Craigslist in Texas

Since 1984 in Texas, massage professionals have been trying to distance themselves from prostitution. Recently Craigslist's owners have made a decision to clean up the controversial postings for massage on their websites by eliminating their "erotic services" section in the state of Illinois.

Unfortunately, Craigslist in Texas has just added another category -- "adult services". As of May 18, 2009, there are 3 categories advertising prostitution under the guise of massage therapy. "Therapeutic" services is chock full of erotic ads boasting of all sorts of illegal massage!

New Board Member Joan Fox reports on the World Massage Festival

The convention was fabulous! Attendees could earn up to 14 CEs. Classes included: Medical Massage,Thai Table Massage, Orthopedic Massage, Massage Cupping, Bamboo Fusion, & Trigger Point Therapy. The Legislative Committee presented "Changes in TX Massage Laws and Rules".

Hall of Fame honorees included three of our members with twenty years of service: Janine Ray, Ariana Vincent and Terry Norman.

TAMT will have the 2010 convention in Dallas, since that area has added over fifty members this year.

Did anyone get a picture of Orbie presenting a Hall of Fame certifiate to Ariana Vincent? If so, send it along!

We'd love to print some convention reports -- let us know how the convention was for you.

Note: We try not to put up last names of general members. If you want your name a certain way (only first, first and last, anonymous) just let our Admin Theresa know.
