NOMINATIONS of Officers


The Board wishes to invite nominations for the office of: President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Feel free to nominate a regional representative in your area. Just detach and return the preaddressed nomination form at the bottom half of this page.

To be an officer is a very rewarding and at times a very time-consuming commitment.  We are looking for dedicated individuals that can afford to take time out of their busy schedules, as needed, to attend state exams/board meetings, local chapter meetings and events, and represent TAMT in a professional manner where needed. Below is a list of duties and responsibilities as set by bylaws:

President

  • Chairs all meetings of the Association and shall be chairperson pro-tem of all committees.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day business and any employees of the Association.
  • The "official representative and spokesperson" of the Association.
  • Communicates to the membership through suggestions and opinions on such matters that promote the welfare and effectiveness of TAMT and shall perform such other duties necessary to the office.
First Vice President
  • Performs the duties of the President in his/her absence and, in the case of vacancy of the office due to resignation, termination, disablement or death, shall fill the office until the next regularly scheduled election.
  • Chairs the Standing Committee on Membership Development; assumes such other duties as assigned by the President.
Second Vice President
  • Chairs the Standing Committee on Public Relations.
  • Assumes such other duties as assigned by the President.
Secretary
  • Takes the attendance of all officers and members, and shall keep the minutes of Annual meeting, Regular Membership meetings, Board of Directors meetings and Executive Committee meetings.
  • Maintains a permanent record of all meetings
  • Submits a summary article of each meeting for inclusion in the newsletter; assumes such other duties as assigned by the President.
Treasurer
  • Chairs the Standing Committee on Budget and Finance.
  • Supervises the disbursement and/or collection of funds and account for same using generally accepted accounting procedures.
